Forging the Gates
Preparations Design Forging Installation Dedication
The process of forging the components of the gates was different from much of the work we do.  Each line in the drawing was replicated by gently drawing out and shaping small pieces of hot metal which were joined to the others with a weld.

We  used larger pieces of copper, bronze and stainless steel to provide accent to the design.  Each figure and element  was thoroughly cleaned, painted, and hand-rubbed to accentuate highlights.
