Making a Daffodil

Daffodil Story         Making a Daffodil          Flowers

The creation of the daffodil begins in the forge, where the trumpets, petals, and leaves are forged using centuries-old techniques of heating and hammering.  The petals and leaves are joined to create the finished flower. Most daffodils are painted green and yellow though we have done some with a natural black finish.
Moving our giant daffodils onto a site has always created public excitement and media interest,  giving the public a taste of the process of creation, as well the product.

The completed project  thrills visitors of all ages.  The sculpture will be very much a part of the garden itself. Subtle nuances will make each flower unique, yet each will relate to the others as part of a broader sculpture.
