Story
Making a Daffodil Flowers
| The idea for the giant daffodils
emerged from a garden gate I built in 1988.
After extensively studying daffodils, I incorporated hand-forged daffodils into the design and,
upon completion, began to experiment with freestanding
sculptures of these flowers. The idea continued to grow
and reached maturity at 9 ½ feet. Our daffodils most closely resemble the 'King Alfred'
variety with its classic yellow trumpet and six petals. |

The presence of just one of these
daffodil sculptures is enough to make it a landmark in and
of itself. The air of perpetual springtime -- the essence
of warmth and growth and revitalization -- is the
sculptures’ most impressionable quality. |
